As we daily endeavour to offer the best of Roman Jewish cuisine, how rewarding this is! Yet another confirmation that we are going in the right direction.
Antonio Tombolini and I know each other quite well. When I told him that I had opened a kosher restaurant in Rome he wrote an article about Nonna Betta….. without having yet tasted one single dish of ours! He could afford to… After reading the article, a renowned gourmet felt provoked: “how dare Tombolini write a review about a restaurant he hasn’t even visited in person….” and then dined here one night. He was not disappointed.
This is the authoritative opinion of a gourmet blogger, who has a slightly polemic approach to the Jewish world, especially with regards to religion. But when confronted with the original recipes of the Roman Jewish cuisine he lets downs his defences…. and is moved!
